Hi Reader,

Oh, gosh, I am so sorry for the headache of last week's broken url to my newly redesigned site! At one point I was talking to my email provider, my ad company, and my developer to figure out why it was happening - and ONLY on the main url, anoregoncottage.com - all the links directly to certain pages DID work. 🤷‍♀️

As you can imagine, it was a fun couple of days. 😂

We did get it fixed (if not yet figured out why), so if you didn't get a chance to check out the new, easier-to-navigate site, be sure to do that!

Click here or the image below:

Because with all the brouhaha, I didn't get a lot of responses to how the site was working or what you'd like to see or if your favorites were how harder to find (I know unintended consequences can happen!).

What's on our menus?

Okay, lets move onto...it's AUGUST!! Wow. Some people are talking back to school already, but in the Pacific Northwest our schools don't start until September - and most colleges the end of September - so we have a lot of summer left. 💜

Which is what these August Dinner Menu Ideas are all about! Be sure to check out all four weeks of dinner menu ideas + sides HERE, but I thought I'd pull out some of my favorites to show what will be making an appearance on our menu!

What Will Be On Our August Dinner Menus

Green Beans with Caramelized Onions & Tomatoes

Talk about highlighting the summer! I'm going with the menu and serving this with chicken-zucchini skewers and potato planks or rice.

Fresh Garden Pico de Gallo

I make this often when the tomatoes are coming in (those are yellow tomatoes in the photo!). I'll serve with soft tacos or tostadas. Oh! You can whir it up and make it restaurant style, too, if you like things smoother.

Heirloom Tomato Feta Salad

I pretty much sing the praises of this simple 5-minute, delicious salad every summer! Serve it with anything grilled or Caesar Wraps like the menu (picnic, anyone?).

Zucchini Feta Fritters with Lime

I've made these every summer for YEARS - just so good. TIP: don't skip the lime! Serve with grilled chicken and a summer pasta salad like the menu suggests. Perfection.

How to Dry Parsley: Oven, Dehydrator or Air (Plus Pros & Cons)

I love having this pantry basic on hand all year just from my herb garden harvest!

Outdoor Umbrella Looking Sad?

Years ago I tested a crazy thought: Can you paint a faded outdoor umbrella? Why yes - yes you can! And you won't believe how long it lasted!!

A Few More Things

My sweet second momma shared about a four sided nail file & buffer that worked so well on ridges and shined up plain nails, so I had to try it (I do not have the patience or time to paint my nails 😂). And she was right - it's so great! Am I the last to know about these?

After probably a year of getting the Quince emails, I finally purchase a long sleeve linen button down shirt in a fun small black check and I'm impressed. I've bought other pure linen and linen blends, but this shirt is really thicker than any other shirt I've gotten. AND it doesn't wrinkle as much - really! I think the thickness of it helps. A great price for a good product - who would've thought?

Here's to the start of a beautiful August!!

As if the deer, gophers, moles, and ground squirrels weren't enough animals to eat/damage our produce the birds decided to join in! We've had pecks and holes on things in the past, but there was always enough left for us that it hasn't been an issue. Until now... Do you remember the photo of our grapevine loaded with large...
