Hi Reader,

Today I’d like to ask - is “healthy dessert” an oxymoron? Can you really have a good tasting dessert that’s actually healthy?

I’ve spent the last couple of years experimenting and recipe testing on both cherished family recipes and new treats to see how far you can go to have a truly delicious dessert that is actually lower in sugar and calories.

Some have NOT worked out and if they are family favorites, I just leave them alone and make them for special occasions.

But a surprising number of recipes turned out the same or better with less sugar (which is always my focus, as I think as a culture we are kind of addicted to it and it’s literally everywhere).

So, yes, I think you can have healthy desserts - and I especially like the quick-to-make ones!

Here are a few of my wins that you may want to try for a quick treat you can feel good about:

Quick & Easy Coconut Macaroons (no milk, no flour)

No Bake Blueberry Pie (low sugar compared to other recipes - most of it comes from the berries)

247kcal | Carbohydrates: 34.1g | Protein: 1.4g | Fat: 12.6g | Fiber: 2g | Sugar: 21.6g

Healthier Chocolate Crispy Peanut Butter Balls

After weeks of rain (we're 2" over our normal rain for this time of the year!), I'm ready for it! I've wanted to share the fun new vegetable variety I'm...

I'm so glad to be in this beautiful spring month where the possibility of sun and warmth is right on the horizon (for us in the north - I see those in the south already in shorts and dealing with 90 degrees!). Right now though, we're dodging rain showers trying to get yard work done and it looks like we will be working around them...

None of them are huge amounts, but I've added them to...
