Hi Reader,

Are you starting your Christmas gift shopping, in the middle of it, or already finished?

I've finished with most of my shopping, with only a handful of gift cards to still get, so now I'm into the wrapping stage (thankfully with my quick-wrap gift system I just pull out the bin of wrapped boxes and it's done in no time - for our family at least, I still have to wrap the gifts we take to others).

Since that (and baking, but we talked about that a few days ago 😀) are on the top of my to-do list, I thought I'd share a few quick and inexpensive ideas for gifts in jars and a roundup of other quick ideas if you need them.

I love giving food gifts because it's one thing you know most people will actually use, it's often a lot cheaper than store-bought gifts, and you can personalize them easily.

I also find foods the best gifts for school secretaries, teachers, mail deliverers, hostesses, etc. It usually really brightens someone's day!

Food Gifts in Jars

Here are both sweet and savory options (with the newest gift in the blog section and more to come next week!):

Cranberry Nut Muffin Mix

Made with good things like whole wheat, brown sugar, dried cranberries and pecans or walnuts, this is not your standard "cake masquerading as a muffin."

Oat & Whole Wheat Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix

This is probably the lease expensive mix next to bread - you most likely have all the ingredients to make this mix in your pantry now! And they're so good.

Red Beans & Rice Jar Gift

How great to give an actual dinner as a gift? Totally useful, right? This makes a flavorful, hearty meal which I love to give with a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce.

Rosemary Focaccia Jar Gift

The nice thing about giving bread mix in a jar is that there's usually nothing but water that needs to be added, so they can make the bread any time.

As if the deer, gophers, moles, and ground squirrels weren't enough animals to eat/damage our produce the birds decided to join in! We've had pecks and holes on things in the past, but there was always enough left for us that it hasn't been an issue. Until now... Do you remember the photo of our grapevine loaded with large...

There is a good harvest of both onions (it's been a really good year for them - some are SO huge!) and peppers, so I'll be making the first batches of salsa this weekend for sure. 😀 I'll be freezing...

The beans are really producing now, I've got a large bowl of tomatoes ripening on the island, and I've been having fresh blackberries on my granola.💜 The past few meals I've been able to say that all the produce has come from the garden, everything for the pico de gallo, cumin slaw,...
